Miguel’s foundation was built in uniform. He served in the United States Army as an Airborne Infantryman from 1990 to 1995, earning his jump wings and serving with the 82nd Airborne Division, the 2/504 Parachute Infantry Regiment, and the V Corps Long Range Surveillance Unit stationed in Darmstadt, Germany.
He comes from a family where military service is not a resume line — it is a way of life. As a third-generation veteran, he carried that responsibility with the weight it deserves.
That service did not end when he took off the uniform. It became the operating system for everything that followed. The military taught Miguel how to show up when it matters, lead from the front, adapt when circumstances change, hold a standard others would let slide, and finish the mission even when finishing is hard.

Miguel is an internationally recognized expert in artificial intelligence, cloud modernization, enterprise architecture, and data platforms. He has spent decades designing and implementing large-scale technology solutions for commercial enterprises, federal government agencies, defense organizations, healthcare systems, educational institutions, and Fortune 500 companies.
In 2002, he founded TekFocus — a technology consulting and education company that at its peak operated more than 30,000 square feet of technical training facilities, supported enterprise clients across the United States, and generated multi-million-dollar annual revenue. He also founded SharePoint TechFest, a major regional technology conference that helped shape how technical education events are run.
He holds one of fewer than 100 Microsoft Certified Solutions Master designations ever awarded — a credential so rare and difficult that Microsoft eventually retired the program. He has contributed to publications through Microsoft Press, held high-level U.S. government security clearances, and trained and consulted internationally.

He also leads Crossroads Moonshine, his modern country and rock fusion project rooted in original songwriting, acoustic storytelling, and real-life perspective. His first professionally recorded original song, “Empty Castle,” was written in Kilkenny, Ireland, recorded in Nashville, produced by Zac Maloy, and co-written with Mike Mancy and Austin Allsup.
